Extruded copper wire and copper wire rods are 国际米兰中文官网’s main raw materials and these are widely used in the core products of the Group, including electric power cables, communications cables, coils, automotive wire harnesses, and the like. 国际米兰中文官网 has begun manufacturing since its inception, and along with increasing domestic and foreign demand for copper wire, the Company launched production at the Chiba Works (Ichihara, Chiba) in April 1971, and at the Mie Works (Kameyama, Mie) in December 1976, establishing a domestic system with two sites.
In recent years, however, further improvement of production efficiency has become an urgent task, as a result of factors including a decrease in exports from the domestic manufacturing bases due to the expansion of the 国际米兰中文官网 Group's foreign manufacturing bases, and sluggish domestic demand for copper wire in Japan.

“With this base aggregation, we continue to provide enhanced products and services going forward, in accordance with Business Continuity Management (BCM) reconstruction including relocation of major manufacturing equipment from the Chiba Works, seismic reinforcement of the buildings on the Mie Works site, and the like, under a thorough quality and safety management system.” says Takatoshi Kamimura, general manager of Electric Conductor division, 国际米兰中文官网.
“The decision taken this time is part of the restructuring promotion activities dealt with in the2015 Furukawa "G" Plan(the medium-term management plan).
