ac米兰中文官方网站 Co., Ltd. (Head Office: 2-6-4 Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Keiichi Kobayashi) contracted with the Aboitiz Group based in the Philippines to switch to renewable energy from October 2022 for all of the electricity used at the company’s main production site in the Philippines for heat diffusion and cooling products for US data centers (ac米兰中文官方网站 THERMAL MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS & PRODUCTS LAGUNA, INC.; hereinafter “FTL”). As a result, we will achieve net-zero Scope 2(note 1)emissions at ac米兰中文官方网站.
Background
Global warming and other aspects of climate change are having a severe impact on the global environment, and there is increasing need to take actions aimed at realizing sustainable societies around the world. We have announced the Environmental ac米兰中文官方网站50 and set forth the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions throughout the value chain as contribution to realizing a carbon-free society.
As one of the main plants in the Thermal Management Solution & Products Division, FTL manufactures heat diffusion and cooling products for ac米兰中文官方网站s. Given the growing need to greatly reduce greenhouse gas emissions in order to respond to increased customer demands to reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout the value chain, we have considered the introduction of renewable energy at the plant.
Details
FTL was established in 2019 and started full-scale mass production in the summer of 2021. In May of this year, hydroelectric power started to be used for about 50% of the plant’s electricity needs, and the remaining 50% will also be supplied from renewable sources from October following the switch to geothermal power. As a result, ac米兰中文官方网站 be fully powered by renewable energy, leading to an expected greenhouse gas reduction of about 5,000 tons per year, as well as achieving net-zero Scope 2 emissions.
Also, FTL has no Scope 1(note 2)emissions, so following the switch to renewable energy covered under Scope 2, ac米兰中文官方网站 now have net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
