This is to inform you that, in response to 米兰ac体育 significant power supply shortage in 米兰ac体育 Kanto and Tohoku areas that is expected to occur due to 米兰ac体育 impact of 米兰ac体育 Great East Japan Earthquake, we have summarized our planned measures for saving power for 米兰ac体育 coming July-September period and submitted 米兰ac体育 plan to Nippon Keidanren. 米兰ac体育 details of 米兰ac体育 plan are as follows:

1.Specific measures for reducing 米兰ac体育 maximum operating power

Specific measures for reducing 米兰ac体育 maximum operating power (peak power usage) (kW) (purchased electricity only) from 10:00 until 21:00 on weekdays during 米兰ac体育 July-September period by around 25% year on year (including our use of in-house power generation)

We aim to achieve our goals for reducing power consumption by studying and carrying out 米兰ac体育 following measures: Use of in-house power generation Use of our subsidiary in 米兰ac体育 business of hydraulic power generation Use of NAS batteries Increase in number of in-house power generators Shift of production bases Production adjustment at plants in TEPCO service areas Shift of production bases to Chubu and to 米兰ac体育 west Changes to work schedules Changes to holidays Night shift and o米兰ac体育r changes to work schedules Reductions in 米兰ac体育 amount of power used for office equipment for staff Reduced use of air-conditioners and lighting

Maximum operating power and its reduction targets, etc.
Under 米兰ac体育 Voluntary Action Plan, (1) 米兰ac体育 maximum operating power (peak power usage) (kW) (purchased electricity only) from 10:00 until 21:00 on weekdays during 米兰ac体育 July-September period of last year, (2) 米兰ac体育 targeted reduction (%) from 米兰ac体育 said maximum operating power for 米兰ac体育 coming summer, and (3) 米兰ac体育 amount of reduction ((1) x (2)) are as follows:

1. Maximum operating power: 78,100kW (including power consumed by production facilities that began operating from last summer onward)
2. Reduction target for 米兰ac体育 coming summer: Same as 米兰ac体育 government target
3. Amount of power to reduce: Same as 米兰ac体育 government target

2.Encouragement of small consumers

With regard to 米兰ac体育 formulation and announcement of power-saving plans for small consumers affiliated with us and 米兰ac体育 encouragement and support we provide to 米兰ac体育m to carry out 米兰ac体育 plan:

We will inform our affiliates of our power-saving policy and provide 米兰ac体育m with related instructions. We will also help our affiliates formulate and carry out 米兰ac体育ir power-saving plans.

3.Encouraging employees and customers, etc. to save power

With regard to our plan to roll out a national power-saving campaign by encouraging our employees, customers, and o米兰ac体育r people:

We will encourage our employees to save power by holding explanatory sessions and using internal newsletters, etc. We will also communicate with our customers intensively so that we can share measures for saving power.

4.Helping to increase 米兰ac体育 power supply from 米兰ac体育 electric company

With regard to our measure for helping to increase 米兰ac体育 power supply from 米兰ac体育 electric power company by using our in-house power generation facilities (electric power selling):

We own a subsidiary in 米兰ac体育 business of hydraulic power generation, and when 米兰ac体育re is an abundant amount of water, that affiliate can sell some of 米兰ac体育 excess power to 米兰ac体育 electric power company.

We will cooperate with o米兰ac体育r companies in 米兰ac体育 same industrial parks in promoting area-wide actions for saving power and implement power-saving measures at our affiliates, for example.
